Josh Cox(x) as "Peter Riggs RN"

This is a programme of which I have no direct experience, so I'm afraid I can't provide you with much in the way of penetrating insight. However, due to Coxx's involvement, I've devoured with interest every scrap of information available on the net. While I really should reserve judgement until I've actually seen the show, I'm afraid that what I've read so far suggests that Strong Medicine may not be the most accomplished medical drama ever to grace the screen. Despite a fair degree of critical acclaim - particularly with reagrd to the programme's educational and provocative intent, (although emerging reports of inadequate research, and the frequently inaccurate information dispensed on the show are beginning to undermine that claim a little) a significant number of reviewers have commented on the its abundant cliches, unimaginative scripting, and the consistently poor performance of the cast. Interestingly, these same people unanimously assert that Cox's depiction of Peter Riggs provides one of the rare aspects of the programme that is worthy of attention, and that his status as the 2000 "Lifetime Man of the Year" is one that is richly deserved. This would not surprise me in the slightest.

Below are links to 2 reviews of the series. The first, penned by the Executive Director of the National Uterine Fibroids Foundation, raises some very legitimate concerns regarding medical accuracy. The second is from the New York Post (a publication which may well be America's answer to the Daily Mail,) and basically offers some mildly diverting superficial tabloid criticisms of the programme.
