A Voice in the Wilderness Pt 2
Although Corwin does appear in the teaser, it amounts to nothing more than a brief repetition of the previous episode's closing scene.
C&C In a corner of the Observation Dome, Sinclair and Ivanova are seen hunched anxiously over a monitor, observing events on Epsilon 3.
Sinclair- The counter-attack looks even heavier than when we went down there.
Ivanova- I noticed the same thing - definite escalation.
Sinclair- They're pulling back.
Corwin-(seated as ever, in the "Pit") Commander - Captain Pearse on the link for you.
Sinclair- Put him through.
***********************************
C&C
Sinclair- Status.
Tech 2- They're cancelling the launch.
Sinclair- Tell the fighters to stand down but keep them ready, just in case we need them after all.
Corwin- We've got a ship coming through the jump-gate.
********************************************
C&C- Shot of Corwin leaving a workstation situated to one side of the Observation Dome, and approaching Ivanova with his customarily subdued tread.
Corwin- We've got another ship asking to leave.
Ivanova- Clear them for launch asap. The more we get out now, the fewer we have to evacuate later.
Nodding in aknowlegement of the order, Corwin descends into the sunken area. An external CGI sequence shows a triangular shuttle craft departing from Babylon 5, before the camera moves back to C&C once more.
Garibaldi- Garibaldi to C&C .(His face appears on a monitor.) Somebody just grabbed the patient you brought back from the planet. Looks like they created a diversion in Blue 7. By the time my guards got back, he was gone.
Sinclair- (who was seen joining Ivanova on the bridge during the course of Garibaldi's dialogue) Stop all outgoing traffic.
Ivanova- It's too late. 3 transports have already left, and one's about to get to the gate and.....wait a minute - where the hell did it go?
Corwin- (turning to face Ivanova from his seat in the "Pit")Signal coming in from the ship.
***************************************
C&C- The station is by this point, in the midst of a full scale assault, and the air is filled with the monotonous wailing of emergency sirens.
Ivanova- (Reading a number of displays on the command console) Direct hit - reporting damage to the Cober Bays.... hulls blue A through C buckling.... 20% power loss. One more hit like that, and it'll blow out the whole forward section.
Sinclair- Where's the Hyperion?
Ivanova - On the other side. Enemy ships keeping us between them.
Corwin- It's coming around again. Weapons systems powering up. They're locking on.
Ivanova- This is it!
External shot shows a vivid point of light forming on the surface of Epsilon 3. It increases in magnitude with every passing second, until a dramatic-looking pulse of energy radiates out from its centre. The scene then reverts to C&C. Lights begin to dim, presumably as power is drained from every system in the Dome. Above the "Pit", the spectral figure of Draal - a venerable Minbari - materializes in holographic form.
Draal- I am sending this message to all 3 parties involved in the struggle for control of this planet. It belongs to none of you. It belong only to itself and to the future. Commander Sinclair, the secrets buried here must remain secrets. They would give any race an advantage over all others. It is in the interests of all races, that none should gain exclusive control of it. We entrust the safekeeping of this place to the Babylon 5 advisory council. We rely upon your guidance, Commander, and the enlightened self interest of the council, to make sure that this place is left alone until the time is right. If enlightened self interest should prove insufficient to the cause, understand this. The defensive systems of this world, are now fully operational. Do not attempt to come here again. Any approach will be met with resistance, any ship attempting to land here will be destroyed. When the time is right, we will be here, waiting for you. Until then, goodbye.
As Draal's image gradually fades into obscurity, the lights in C&C become correspondigly brighter. Sinclair and Ivanova are seen glancing at one another, while the murmured conversations taking place amongst the other Dome staff, swell to a steady background hum.
Sinclair- Somebody better get Pearse on the link.
Corwin- (with some dismay) The enemy ship is moving again. They're headed towards the planet.
Ivanova- What?? Didn't they get the message?
Sinclair- They got it - I don't think they believed it.
